A note from our Co-Founder Courtney Thompson...
For many USA National Team players, Puerto Rico is a familiar stop on the professional volleyball circuit. The opportunities many of us have had while playing and living in Puerto Rico are some of our most enjoyable, and there is a special connection between our volleyball communities.
I was fortunate enough to play in Puerto Rico for three seasons; two of which were in the city of Cataño. The people of Cataño changed my life. They are hard working people who know how to enjoy the simple things in life (including how to throw a good party!), and most importantly they are grounded in a strong sense of community. They welcomed me into their neighborhood and cared for me as if I was family. Neighbors matter in Cataño, and people matter in Cataño.
Their resilience, their determination, and their love for one another will no doubt get them through this difficult time, where 80% of the people have lost their homes in Hurricane Maria.
Along with so many others in the volleyball community, we at the Give It Back Foundation would like do as much as we can to support the people of Cataño as they endure the incredible challenges caused by Hurricane Maria and begin to rebuild their community.
I invite you to please give what you can to help our dear friends, who without a doubt would do the same for us. If you would like to donate to Cataño, please click on the link below.
Catano we are with you! Puerto Rico we are with you!
100% of all donations to the Give It Back Foundation will now go directly to the people and the families of Cataño
